Hello!
As a peasant, and therefore a huge drugstore/highstreet/boots and superdrug/whatever you will fan, it was a no brainer that I convert this to blog form and do it. I'll get right to it!
1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand overall?
This is tricky... Like, really tricky... I think I will have to go with Superdrug's MUA because they have been coming out with so many great products and are just so incredibly cheap. That, and the fact that a lot of my current face is compromised of MUA.
2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?
For the face I would have to say the Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation which has been the only one I've used since I bought it because it is great on my oily skin. I also love the Maybelline Fit Me concealer for under the yes as it doesn't crease and, for a heavier coverage, I adore the Collection lasting perfection concealer which, really, needs no explanation. On the cheeks my favourite products are the MUA £1 blushes because they are so pigmented and a highlighter from No7 I've had for about a year but is such a pretty golden colour without being too yellow on my pale skin. As for the lips, I have to say I rarely wear anything on them aside from lipbalm, my favourites being various offerings from Blistex or Carmex. However I do like the Kate Moss for Rimmel lipsticks as they apply smoothly and don't dry the lips out.
3. Least favorite product?
Hmm... I recently had a mammoth clear out and threw away all the products I didn't use/were out of date. However, I think I will go for the Soap&Glory Archery brow Tint and Pencil which I loved at first, but the pencil quickly became very crumbly and I don't like the tint on it's own.
4. What is the best makeup bargain?
My eyebrow colour - an MUA eyeshadow (shade 19) that cost me a mere pound. It's a little too dark in colour but as long as I don't use too much it's perfect as I like a more defined brow.
5. What is your favorite underdog product?
I absolutely love the Soap&Glory Supercat eyeliner pen but don't think I've really heard much about it as it's been overshadowed by their other products. I find pen eyeliners are the only way I can get a half-decent line and this is the first one I've used that hasn't dried out really fast and become un-usable.
6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
I think that a lot of drugstore mascaras are really expensive, especially when compared to US prices - actually, that goes for most products that are also available across the pond. I also think that Sleek eyeshadow palettes have gotten a bit pricey. They used to come in at £5 but are now £8! That is still a good deal considering the quality but I think that is just quite a big price hike and a bit cheeky of Sleek. That doesn't stop my sadness that they are no longer in my Superdrug though.
7. Show your best drugstore dupes!
I won't lie. I have never paid attention to such things and I don't have enough high-end products to bother to duplicate. However, I do have the MUA Undressed palette which is very comparable to the Naked palette (although I don't own it to be able to confirm). I have another MUA shadow (shade 12) which has a similar red-brown base and green shimmer to MAC's club eyeshadow.
8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?
It took me a while to think of an answer to this because I don't usually buy products because of hype and I tend to do my research if I'm parting with a lot of money. That said, I remember seeing a lot of bloggers/youtube raving about the Collection (then with the 2000) Big Fake mascara. It was okay but the the brush was too big to grab my lashes and it dried out really quickly. Not a fan.
So, there is my I ♥ Drugstore tag. Have you done this? Link it in the comments for me to watch! (assuming you're normal and have done a video).
♥
