Life thoughts.
Hello everyone. It's been a while.
This is going to be a rambly one, no editing, no nothing and for that I can only apologise. But I need to get some stuff out and this seemed the place to do it. You don't have to read this, it's hard beauty related but not everything in life is. Obviously. I feel like I deal so much with the superficial on here and that at times like this when I have no brain space for that sphere of things, this blog gets neglected. So here we go.

17 Doll'd Up Mascara Review
Hello!
I have a review for you today, of the relatively new mascara by 17: Doll'd up. This is available from Boots and costs £6.29 here - and is currently on a cheeky 3-for-2. I bought the shade Black but there is also a Brown/Black. I was in need of a new mascara because my L'Oreal Volume Million had started to dry up but I wasn't in love with it enough to repurchase and had a voucher for some money off this one so thought I would give it a go.

Dainty Doll Blush Haul & Swatches
Hello :)
I, like many others, took advantage of the crazy low Dainty Doll prices over at Fragrance Direct. Dainty Doll, as I'm sure you will know, is Nicola Roberts' makeup line. This time I stuck to blushes only (my addiction is growing) but I might go back and order some more pretty soon...

'No Makeup' Makeup #001
Hello!
I have my face for you today! What a thrill. We all know and love some 'no makeup' makeup from time to time, but I have found recently that I have several variants. Today I am showing you the lightest , most natural makeup but I will have one or two more as and when I wear them. I used to be a full-face all-days kind of girl, but due to sheer laziness I have recently embraced/fallen into a simpler look. This is as simple as it gets.

A Weeks Takeaway Beauty
Hello :)
This week I am staying at my dads, and I thought I would show you what I have brought with me in the way of cosmetics and skincare etc. I love the 'what's in my bag' and 'what's in my makeup bag' type posts, but mine are so deeply uninteresting that I won't do one myself. This, however, is not only more interesting (hopefully) but might possibly be helpful for anyone who is also staying somewhere for a while - I am aware this is quite a lot but I used to be a lot worse!

Makeup of the Moment #002
Hello :)
I've been wearing less makeup recently so haven't looked interesting enough to show you all, but I do wear a full face to work so that is what I have for you today. The sun was ACTUALLY shining while I did my makeup but hid away again when I took photos - probably for the best as it was shining straight in my window and I would have had window frame shaped shadows on my face.
It's not particularly fancy, I mainly focus on something that isn't going to fade badly so pretty simple, with an emphasis on my skin (which is looking pretty good at the moment, touch wood).
The foundation is a tad too dark for my skin but does last all day, save for some inevitable fade around my nose which seems to be where foundation goes to die.
This is a pretty simple and natural look that isn't over the top which is not especially interesting blogging but is however more appropriate for my job.
Would you like to see more posts like this?

When I lay it all out it looks like less than I thought - it feels like I put more on!
Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation - I'm shade 51
Collection Lasting Perfection concealer - the lightest shade
Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder - again, the lightest shade
MUA Bronzed Perfection as contour and blended around my eyes
ELF Studio Blush in Tickled Pink
Natural Collection blush in Peach Melba - kind of between my contour and the ELF blush
No7 Highlighter - it was from a Spring collection last year (?)
MUA eye primer
Sleek Au Naturel palette (Taupe, Cappucino, Nougat & Regal on the eyes and Bark for brows - ironic after my ode to MUA shade 19 on Monday)
L'oreal Volume Million Lashes mascara
Soap & Glory SuperCat pen liner
Natural light - and messy background!
Flash and paleface - but at least matchy matchy with my neck.

These are a few of my favourite things...
Hello, and Happy April!
There are few products I stay loyal to (beauty blogging is a fickle trade) but those that I do purchase time and again really are fabulous. This is a short list but these products have really stood the test of time for me.
1. Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips - £16 for 125 ml - Clicky click.
This is pricey. But so good. I 'tip' the bottle onto a cotton ball for each eye, maybe more if I've done super heavy makeup, and then cleanse my whole face over the sink so this lasts ages. It's a lot more expensive than anything else I've used but also so much better. When I ran out I went straight out to buy a new one! Plus... it has a shiny lid. What more could you want?
2. Blistex lip balms - £2.50ish
Specifically MedPlus Balm and Intensive Moisturiser Hydrating Lip Cream. These are, I am led to believe, medicated or at least packed with something that really works. At any rate, they are the only lip balms I have found that actively heal my lips which are chapped at the best of times, never mind this crazy cold windy weather we are having!
3. Yves Rocher lip balms - £3 but always on some kind of offer - Link
These... They are so softening and smell yummy and I don't react to them! Yay sensitive skin. If I don't want anything tingly and medicinal, then I slather these on because they are just brilliant. No other stick balm compares. I am, however a lip balm addict and so buy them anyway. Someone lend me some logic next time I go shopping?
4. My toner - free!
I realise this is in a Lush bottle. I bought a Lush one then realised it was no better than my homemade version, but kept the bottle as it looks fancy. All I do is mix 5 or so drops of tea tree oil with some filtered water. That is all. I have never used a particularly effective toner, I just like how they make my face feel fresh and extra clean. Plus, I can use as much as I like because it doesn't cost me a fiver a bottle!
5. MUA single eyeshadow shade 19 (aka Eyebrow powder) - £1 - click here
Technically a little dark, but I like it that way. Cheap, cheerful, not too red or green for eyebrows. I have no need to change it, thanking you kindly.
I believe that is all for now... These are things that I genuinley have no need to change, although I will insist on buying more lipbalm. You can never have too many. Said no one with sense.
Goodnight internet friends... (realisation that this will go live at 6.30 on a Monday evening... probably still apt for my tired little life).
What are you favourite things? Have you tried any of these?
