Bourjois Bronzing Primer Review.

Hello!
A little while ago I bought the new Bourjois Bronzing Primer out of curiosity and have fallen in love. I thought it only fair to share my new found love with you, so here it is!

This little Bourjois bronzing primer is £9.99 and available from all the usual places in the UK. It calls itself a tinted smoothing primer but as a whiter-than-white English rose I wouldn't dream of using it in such a way. It says it evens and mattifies and claims to have a luxurious velvet texture and addictive fragrance.

The packaging consists of a plastic jar with a screw on lid, standard but simple. You get 18ml of this moussey product and with the amount that I use it will last a long time, but if you did use it all over your face as a primer you would get through it much more quickly. As mentioned, this has a mousse-like texture but is on the denser side. As the packaging says this is highly fragranced but I personally love it - a cross between chocolate and coconut and to me it smells like holidays. I have sensitive skin but haven't reacted to it.

In the jar this is a terrifyingly dark tan shade, and leans toward the orange side. It definitely shows up like this in the heavy swatch above but when blended out, it becomes much more wearable and a much more natural bronze. I apply this primarily as a contour with the Real Techniques stippling brush and really working it into the skin well, then . A tip for freckled faces - blend this over the areas where you freckle first for a seamless finish, as you already have more colour in those areas but it's also where the sun hits so looks natural.

This has no shimmer and is very matte on the skin without any kind of dewy sheen. I find that this has a smooth and silky finish and doesn't feel tacky on the skin - though being oily I dust some powder over for good measure. The longevity of this is good, it lasts most of the day but depends of what I have underneath and I like to dust over with a powder bronzer to make it last longer.

Thanks to Bourjois I am now a bronzing convert!

  1. I really want to give this a try, I was a bit scared because it looks super dark but I think I'd be able to make it work for me too!
