I have a spending habit. I can't bloody stop shopping! It's all the tempting offers, they lure me in and before I know it I've dropped another £10 on makeup. But it's so pretty! I would like to stress that this was not bought in one go but over a few weeks. I am not that crazy.
Now, I'm sure you can see all the Real Techniques blushes prettily in a line... I have certainly bought a few! I've had the shittest face brushes for the longest time and Superdrug had a buy-one-get-one-half-price on brushes so I went for it. Oops...
Real Techniques brushes (full list below).
Elizbeth Arden Pressed Powder in Translucent.
MUA Pro trio in Pink Sorbet.
Seventeen Blush in Damson Wine.
MUA Cream Blush in Dolly.
Natural Collection Cream Blush in Rosy Pink.
Maybelline Colour Tattoos in Pink Gold and Permanent Taupe.
MUA Power Pout in Rendezvous.
VO5 Instant Oomph Powder.
Maybelline nail polishes in Mint For Life and Rose Poudre.
NYC polishes in Full Metal Jacket and Rock Muse.
Barry M Gelly polishes in Blood Orange and Lychee.
As brushes go, from top to bottom we have the Powder brush, Blush brush, the Travel Essentials, the Expert Face brush and lastly the Stippling brush. I already have the Core Collection so I can do nearly everything with my Real Techniques brushes - I have other brushes for eyes and brows. This may be a tad excessive, so let us not dwell on it!
Now, you may have noticed the rather swish black Elizabeth Arden compact at the top there... That is my beautiful new Flawless Finish Ultra Smooth Pressed powder in Translucnet 01. I needed a new pressed powder and spotted this in TKMaxx for a mere £9.99. It was meant to be!
I also bought some more nail polish - in pairs, it seems. We have Maybelline Super Stay 7 days Gel polish in Mint For Life 615 and Rose Poudre 130. I have tried the mint and the first coat is super streaky but then it's all perfected in the second - and lasted pretty well, though I always manage to destroy nail polishes. The NYC polishes were just so pretty that they really caught my eye. The top one is 002 Full Metal Jacket and the bottom is 001 Rock Muse. They are just so glamourous - and glamour is something my life is particularly devoid of right now. The final two are two more of the lovely Barry M Gelly Hi Shine polishes. I already have Prickly Pear and Greenberry and wanted some more classic shades so opted for a nude - Lychee and a red - Blood Orange.
I shall throw in the miscellaneous hair item before I get to some swatches. I am ever lusting after voluminous, big hair as I am both blessed and cursed with flat, fine, poker straight hair. I thought I would try the VO5 Instant Oomph Powder and it's a strange texture that will take some getting used to. That said, the volume was immense and it smells bloody good.
I warned you - I want me some pink eyeshadows in my life. From left to right, swatched, we have the MUA eyeshadow trio in Pink Sorbet - so pretty! The colour is a tad off, the eyeshadows aren't as warm toned in real life. We then come to the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's in 40 Permanent Taupe and 65 Pink Gold. I absolutley love these and will have a review coming soon. I was worried the pink would make you look either teary or allergy-ridden, but as I have very pale skin it looks okay. I tend to wear yellow toned foundations but these work really well on my skintone. The taupe is also divine, it starts off very grey but when blended becomes more brown and looks really good as a sheer layer but can be built up to a darker colour. My kind of product!
From left to right: Natural Collection Cream Blush in Rosy Pink, Seventeen Powder Blush in Damson Wine, MUA Cream Blush in Dolly and MUA Power Pout in Rendezvous.
The two cream blushes do look very similar but the MUA is more orange and the textures are different, I have found the Natural Collection to be lighter and sheerer and the MUA to be a truer cream texture. I love pinky browny shades for contour-and-blush cheating so this powder blush by Seventeen had to be mine. I have quite a few of their blushes now and think they are really pretty damn good. I couldn't resist the lip crayon by MUA and might pick up a couple more as I was really impressed by this one. The formula is quite glossy and leaves something of a stain. The colour does come out more pinky than I expected, though is still very pretty.
You know, I think that's it. Phew!
